Scenario

How an agency moves client files off Google Drive

1
The account manager connects Google Drive Emma opens her dosya.dev dashboard, clicks "Import from Google Drive", and signs in with her Google account. One click, read-only access granted. dosya.dev never modifies or deletes anything on Google Drive.
2
She picks the folders to import The file picker shows her entire Drive, including Shared Drives. She selects the Client Projects 2025 folder with 850 files across 40 subfolders and 12 GB of assets.
3
The import runs in the background dosya.dev downloads each file from Google's servers and uploads it to the selected workspace. The folder structure is preserved exactly. Emma can close her browser and come back later. The progress bar shows how many files are done.
4
Files land in the right place All 850 files appear in her dosya.dev workspace with the same folder hierarchy. Each file shows an "Imported from Google Drive" label in the audit log. The team can now share, comment, and collaborate from dosya.dev.

Read-only access

dosya.dev requests read-only access to your Google Drive. We never modify, move, or delete your original files. You can disconnect Google Drive at any time from your Profile → Integrations settings.

Scenario

How a video editor migrates terabytes to dosya.dev

1
Marcus is tired of Google Drive's limits His 2 TB Google One plan is full. Downloading and re-uploading 1.8 TB of project files manually would take days. He signs up for dosya.dev Pro (2 TB) and connects his Google account.
2
He imports project by project Instead of importing everything at once, Marcus selects one project folder at a time. Each import goes into a separate workspace: Nike Campaign, Podcast Season 3, Wedding Reel.
3
Large files transfer without issues Google Drive's export handles the heavy lifting on their side. dosya.dev ingests files up to 100 GB on the Pro plan. His 45 GB ProRes master files come through cleanly. No browser timeouts, no corrupted downloads.
4
He shares the workspace with his clients Once the import is complete, Marcus invites his clients to each workspace with Viewer access. They can preview and download files from dosya.dev's 200+ edge servers, faster than Google Drive ever served them.

No double download

Files transfer server-to-server. You don't need to download files to your computer first and re-upload them. dosya.dev pulls directly from Google's API, so your local bandwidth and disk space are never touched.

After granting permission, you'll be redirected back to dosya.dev and an import modal will pop up automatically. Select the Google account you just connected (or switch between multiple accounts), browse your Drive, and select the files or folders you want to import.
