Most cloud storage services treat your data as a product. dosya.dev is different. We are open source, privacy-first, and transparent. No tracking, no ads, no selling your data. You can audit every line of code that touches your files.

With free file storage up to 5 GB and paid plans supporting files up to 100 GB (unlimited on Business), dosya.dev is the file hosting service that scales with your needs. Every upload is protected with secure file sharing features including password-protected links, expiry windows, and download limits.

Unlike traditional cloud file storage providers, we never charge egress fees. Upload once, deliver anywhere. Your bill reflects storage only, not bandwidth. That makes dosya.dev ideal for large file transfer workflows where files are downloaded repeatedly by clients and collaborators.

Security is not an add-on. It is built in. All files are encrypted at rest with AES-256 and in transit with TLS 1.3. Pro users get end-to-end encryption, and Business users can enable zero-knowledge encryption where files are encrypted in the browser before upload. We cannot read your files even if asked.

Need to send files online to someone without an account? Generate a share link in one click. Recipients download directly, no sign-up required. Add a password, set an expiry from 1 hour to 30 days, or limit the number of downloads for temporary file sharing.

What is dosya.dev and who is it for?

dosya.dev is an open source, privacy-first file storage and sharing platform. It is built for people who deal with very large files: video editors, photographers, researchers, engineering teams, and anyone moving terabytes between continents or clouds. Our desktop app, CLI, and shared packages are fully open source so you can audit every line of code that touches your files.

Is dosya.dev open source?

Yes. Our desktop app, CLI, and shared packages are fully open source on GitHub. You can audit the code, report issues, and contribute. We are currently in beta and planning to open source the main engine as well. We believe file storage should be transparent and trustworthy, not a black box. How does dosya.dev protect my privacy?

Privacy is at the core of dosya.dev. We do not track you, serve ads, or sell your data. All files are encrypted at rest with AES-256 and in transit with TLS 1.3. Pro users can enable client-side (zero-knowledge) encryption, where files are encrypted in your browser before upload, meaning we cannot read them even if asked. And because we are open source, you can verify all of this yourself.

What's the largest file I can upload?

On the Free plan, individual files can be up to 2 GB. On the Plus plan, up to 10 GB. On the Pro plan, up to 100 GB. The Business plan has no file size limit. There is no monthly transfer cap on any paid plan. You only pay for what you store.

Do you charge egress fees?

No. Unlike S3, GCS, or R2, the Pro plan never charges for downloads or transfers out. Upload once, deliver anywhere. Your bill only reflects storage, not bandwidth.

How does pricing work on the Pro plan?

Pro is pay-as-you-go at $0.036 per GB per month, billed monthly based on your actual usage. There are no minimums, no annual commitments, and you can cancel anytime. Use the estimator above to see what your storage would cost.

Where are my files stored? Can I choose a region?

We operate 200+ servers across 46 regions including the US, UK, Germany, France, Turkey, Singapore, Brazil, and more. Uploads are automatically routed to your nearest edge for speed, and Pro users can pin storage to a specific region for compliance or latency reasons.

Can I share files with people who don't have an account?

Yes. You can generate public or private share links for any file or folder, set expiration windows (24 hours to 30 days), and protect them with a password. Recipients can download without signing up. Pro users can also send file requests, letting clients upload directly into your folder.

Which third-party services do you integrate with?

dosya.dev connects directly to Google Drive, Dropbox, and Amazon S3. You can transfer files between these services and dosya.dev without downloading them locally first. This is useful when you're moving terabytes between clouds.

What happens to my files if I cancel or downgrade?

Your files stay accessible for 30 days after a cancellation or downgrade so you can export or delete them on your own schedule. We never delete data without notice. After 30 days, files exceeding the Free plan limits are removed.

Do you offer a free trial of Pro?

Yes. Every new account gets 14 days of Pro free, with no credit card required. After the trial, you can stay on Free or choose any paid plan.

Is file sharing free?

Yes. All plans, including the free plan, include public and private share links, password protection, expiring links, and download limits. You can share files securely at no cost. Recipients do not need an account to download.

How do I send large files online?

Upload your file to dosya.dev using chunked, resumable uploads. Then generate a secure share link and send it to your recipient. No account is needed to download. Files up to 100 GB are supported on the Pro plan, and the Business plan has no file size limit.
