Fair use on the Free plan

The REST API, WebDAV, and S3-compatible access are available on every plan, Free included. On Free, each credential carries default limits of 60 requests per minute, 5 GB of transfer per day, and 2 concurrent transfers.

When a limit is hit, requests over it are answered with a rate-limit response and go through again once the minute or the day rolls over. A transfer that is already running is allowed to finish - it is never cut off partway. Nothing is deleted and the credential is not revoked.

Paid plans carry no per-plan metering: no daily transfer allowance, no concurrency cap, and nothing counted against your bill. What every plan does carry, Free and paid alike, is a set of abuse rate limits that bound request rate rather than volume: 300 requests per minute per user and 600 per minute per IP address on the REST API, and 600 per minute per user and 1,200 per minute per IP address on S3 and WebDAV. On Free the 60-per-credential limit above is tighter, so it is the one you meet first. These are safety ceilings, not quotas, and they are documented alongside each protocol in the developer reference.

A Free account can hold up to 3 API keys and 3 webhook endpoints in total. Existing keys and endpoints keep working at the cap - creating another one just asks you to delete one first or upgrade. Paid plans allow 20 keys and 16 webhook endpoints per workspace.

A Free account can own up to 3 workspaces, each with up to 5 members including you. Being a member of someone else's workspace is never capped, and does not count against your own 3. Paid plans have no limit on either.

Reaching a cap never affects an existing workspace or removes anyone. Creating the fourth workspace, or inviting a sixth member, is what asks you to upgrade.

A Free account serves up to 10 GB of share-link downloads per day, counted across all of its links. When that is reached, the links answer with a temporary busy page until the day rolls over.

A Free account can also have up to 5 active share links at a time, and each link lives for up to 7 days. A longer or never-expiring request is simply set to 7 days, and the link's real expiry is always shown when it is created. Once a link expires or is revoked it stops counting toward the 5, so the cap frees itself as links age out.

Nothing is deleted and no link is disabled early: the files stay exactly where they are, live links stay valid, and visitors can simply come back later. Paid plans have unlimited links, any expiry, and no metering.

Version history and rollback work on every plan. On Free, versions are kept for 7 days: versions older than that are removed by scheduled cleanup. This only ever touches old versions - the current version of a file is never affected, and you can roll back to any version inside the window at any time.

Paid plans keep versions with no time limit. Separately from that window, every plan keeps the newest 10 versions of a file by default and drops the oldest beyond it. A workspace admin can raise, lower or remove that cap in workspace settings, and it applies before the retention window does. Stored versions count toward your storage quota.

Downgrading to Free does not delete anything at the moment you downgrade - the 7-day window simply starts applying to versions from then on, and the newest version of every file is always kept.

Deleted files go to trash on every plan, and you can restore them from there. On Free, files in trash are permanently removed 7 days after you delete them; on paid plans it is 30 days.

This applies only to files you have already deleted. Nothing outside the trash is ever cleaned up.

The activity feed and audit logs are on every plan. Free keeps 7 days of history; paid plans keep long-term history of 400 days. The feature itself is identical - only how far back it reaches differs.

It is not a feature paywall. No product feature is switched off on Free, and none of the limits above changes what you can do - only how much of it you can do in a day, how many people you can do it with, and how far back history reaches.

It is not something everyday use runs into. If you are backing up a laptop, syncing a phone, or sharing files with people you know, you are unlikely to notice any of these limits.

And it is never surprise data loss. Paused allowances resume on their own when the window resets, and cleanup follows the fixed windows published on this page - nothing else.
