Let our servers do the downloading.
Paste a link to any file on the web and dosya.dev fetches it straight into your workspace. No downloading to your device, no re-uploading, no babysitting a progress bar on a slow connection.
Included with every dosya.dev account.
Why fetch server-side?
Getting a big file from the web into your cloud storage normally means moving it through your own connection twice. Remote Downloads skips both trips.
The old way
Download the file to your device, wait, then upload it to the cloud and wait again. Twice through your connection - painful on slow or metered internet, and everything restarts if your laptop sleeps.
Remote Downloads
Paste the link and close the tab. Our servers fetch the file directly from the source into your workspace at datacenter speed. Your connection carries nothing but the click.
Paste a link, walk away
- 1
Paste a direct file link
Any public https link that points at a file - a dataset, an installer, a video, a backup archive. Pick the destination folder and hit Fetch.
- 2
Our servers fetch it in resumable pieces
The file streams into your workspace in checkpointed chunks. If anything is interrupted mid-transfer, the download picks up where it left off - no starting over, even on files that take hours.
- 3
Watch progress from anywhere
A live progress ring follows you through the app while a download runs, and the Remote download page shows every job with its percentage. Close the tab entirely - the download keeps going.
- 4
It lands like any other file
The finished file appears in your workspace exactly like an upload: share it, organize it, sync it to your devices, or send it on - immediately.
Designed to finish the job
Up to 1 TB per file
Fetch files far beyond what a browser download can survive - datasets, disk images, footage.
Resumable by design
Progress is checkpointed continuously. Interruptions resume instead of restarting from zero.
Zero load on your internet
The transfer happens between our servers and the source. Slow hotel Wi-Fi is no longer your bottleneck.
Live progress everywhere
A progress ring in the sidebar follows you across the app, with per-file detail one hover away.
Instantly ready to use
Finished downloads behave like uploads: share links, folders, sync and apps all work immediately.
Fetched safely
Secure https sources only, with every redirect checked before a single byte is fetched.
The fine print, in plain words
Direct file links only
The link must point at the file itself. Share pages - a Google Drive or Dropbox preview link, for example - serve a web page, not a file, and will be politely rejected with an explanation.
Fair-use limits
Up to 3 downloads can run at the same time, and up to 20 per day per workspace. Fetched files count toward your storage like any other file.
Only fetch what you're allowed to
Remote Downloads is for content you have the right to store - your backups, open datasets, purchased media, public releases. The usual terms of service apply.
